On January 3, 2006, Central Bank Illinois opened a Loan Production Office serving the Bureau County area. Located in Princeton, Illinois this new Central Bank office opened with a management team comprised of community bankers well known throughout the area.

Initially, the bank operated as a loan office with plans to relocate and open a full-service branch in Princeton prior to year-end 2006. Due to an overwhelming response from the market area, the bank received regulatory approval for full service banking on April 1, 2006. Thus, this new Central Bank office became a full service branch and began accepting deposits and opening accounts, bringing true community banking to the Princeton market.

In July of 2006, the bank acquired the former Hardees building which had been vacant for several years. Immediate renovation began to locate the new Central Bank branch at this new location of 317 South Main Street in Princeton. By mid-November the building was complete and offering complete deposit and loan services as well as drive-thru banking, a 24-hour ATM, night depository services, and safe deposit boxes. In 2016 the bank opened a Real Estate Center directly across the street from the Princeton branch.

As a community bank, Central Bank in Princeton specializes in agriculture, commercial, real estate, and consumer lending. In addition, customers are offered complete depository and trust department services. The Princeton branch expands the footprint of Central Bank Illinois into the Bureau County market area and beyond.
